JOHNSTOWN, Colo. – Republican candidate for Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, Scott James, is calling out Democrats amid a new lawsuit against Jared Polis’ administration that saw a federal judge place a preliminary injunction on new legislation that would have gone into effect Monday, August 7th, banning 18-21 year old adults from purchasing a firearm in the state of Colorado.
In a tweet Tuesday, James said, “Under Dem control, LEGAL ADULTS, 18 to 21 years-old will be denied their #2A rights. It’s a slippery slope when Dem leaders start ignoring the words “shall not be infringed” in favor of using the Bill of Rights as a menu from which to pick & choose.“

James’ statement highlights a growing trend in Democrat politics where the Constitutional rights of Americans are being laid to the wayside in favor of a party agenda that does little to protect families and communities who feel less safe in their homes and communities thanks to rising crime.
Sadly, the consequences don’t end there. If Democrats are successful in their ongoing attempts to limit Coloradans access to their Second Amendment rights, what’s next on the chopping block? Will Democrats choose to limit religious freedom? Will they continue to target freedom of speech? Thankfully, Scott James will fight to protect not only Coloradans Second Amendment rights, but all rights afforded to them under the Constitution when sent to Congress next November.
